LAKE ALLATOONA IS FULL, CLEAR AND 84 DEGREES

This fishing report is provided exclusively from Craig Miller, manager of The DugOut Bait and Tackle, Kennesaw Georgia, 770 428 7406

Bass fishing is fair the early morning top water bite is fair. The fish are being caught on points and steep rock banks. Try throwing a Pop R or walking bait in a shad pattern. After the morning bite slows, go to a Shaky Worm Jr. in smoke blue or green pumpkin. Match these baits with a shaky head or a slider head. I recommend slowly fishing them on points close to deep water or any brush you can find in the mid section of the lake around Galt’s Ferry. A few bigger fish are being caught on a deep running crank bait in the sexy shad or lavender shad colors on points. In the evening, fish the shady places of steep rock banks with a super fluke or a small top water lure. After dark, target the main lake points and steeper banks. We recommend a 1/2 ounce black spinner bait (I like to throw a Strike Zone Lure’s Nite Bite) and a medium depth crank bait like a 300 series Bandit in black and blue flake or a Norman DLN in color #113 or 113RB, which are both shades of black. The fish should start relating more to any wood cover in deep water as the weather gets hotter.
